BEMO 1262 263 MGB HGE 4/4 II 103 "CHUR"

Cogwheel locomotive HGe 4/4 II 103 "Chur" of the MGB (Matterhorn Gotthard Railway), era V.

On January 1, 2003, the BVZ Zermatt-Bahn and the Furka Oberalp Bahn merged to form MGB. The focus of the new logo is the Matterhorn in a stylized form. The fine slanting lines that run through the Matterhorn are a symbol of the mountain wind and the airstream that brushes Switzerland's most famous landmark and accompanies travelers on the mountain journey. The Gotthard is also a symbolic name. It lies in the heart of Switzerland and its massive massif stretches across the cantons of Graubünden, Uri and Ticino. Its foothills extend all the way to Valais. After more than five years, many vehicles have a new design, but with the exception of the 14 panoramic cars from 1993, a common numbering scheme has not yet been introduced. Vehicles from the former FO can be recognized by the '2' in the 5th position of the item number, vehicles from the former BVZ by the '5'.
